Today, we're launching the Authsignal Canada Region with infrastructure in Canadian data centers and API endpoints at ca.api.authsignal.com. Enterprise customers can now run authentication workloads and store customer data in Canada while serving users across North America with lower latency.

The new Canadian Region helps organizations meet data residency requirements while deploying modern authentication. Canadian financial institutions, healthcare providers, and enterprises can now use passkeys, biometric verification, and risk-based MFA without moving data outside the country.

What's driving this

Data residency compliance is the primary reason. Canadian organizations operating under PIPEDA and provincial privacy regulations need clear answers about where authentication data lives. Storing credentials, user records, and authentication events in Canadian data centers simplifies compliance documentation and audit processes.

We're also seeing stronger adoption of passkeys and passwordless authentication in Canada. As organizations move away from SMS OTP and legacy MFA, they want infrastructure that supports this transition without regulatory complications.

What you get

The Canada Region runs the complete Authsignal platform with no feature restrictions:

Authentication methods - FIDO2 passkeys, WebAuthn, push notifications, biometric verification, email and SMS OTP, and magic links all work exactly as they do in other regions.

Developer tools - All SDKs (Web, iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter) support the Canada region. You'll configure the Canadian endpoint (https://ca.api.authsignal.com/v1) when initializing the SDKs or APIs. Same integration patterns and APIs as other regions.

Platform features - The full rules engine, identity verification, audit logging, and analytics run in Canada. No compromises on security controls or observability.

Your data stays in Canadian data centers. User credentials, authentication events, audit logs, and session data remain in-country. API calls route to ca.api.authsignal.com for clear geographic separation.

Performance improvements

Running authentication in Canada reduces latency for users across the country. Passkey verifications, push notifications, and API requests to Authsignal happen faster when they don't need to route through US infrastructure.

Organizations with users in both Canada and the northern United States can benefit from reduced round-trip times compared to hosting exclusively in US regions.

Getting started

Select "Canada" when creating your Authsignal tenant. The platform handles routing and regional configuration automatically. Pricing and support are identical across regions.
