Bird (formerly MessageBird) is a global cloud communications platform that provides SMS, email, voice, and messaging infrastructure for businesses worldwide. With direct carrier connections in over 190 countries and comprehensive email delivery capabilities, Bird delivers billions of messages annually across multiple channels with high reliability and competitive pricing.
Authsignal partners with Bird to provide multi-channel authentication delivery, including SMS OTP, Email OTP, and Magic Links. When you configure Bird as your provider in Authsignal, all three authentication methods route through Bird's unified infrastructure. This partnership gives Authsignal customers the advantage of managing multiple authentication channels through a single provider relationship, simplifying vendor management while leveraging Bird's enterprise-grade global delivery network.
The integration works seamlessly across all authentication methods within Authsignal. Whether you're sending SMS one-time passwords, email verification codes, or magic link emails, Bird's infrastructure handles the delivery while you maintain full control over authentication logic and user experience. Bird manages the complexity of global routing for both SMS carriers and email providers, ensuring optimal deliverability across channels.
Bird offers unique advantages as one of the few providers supporting both SMS and email authentication through Authsignal. Managing authentication through a single provider simplifies billing, reduces vendor complexity, and provides unified analytics across all verification channels. Their infrastructure supports seamless transitions between channels - for example, offering email OTP as a fallback when SMS delivery fails, or providing users with a choice between SMS and email verification based on their preferences.
This integration is particularly valuable for organizations implementing multi-channel authentication strategies, companies seeking vendor consolidation for simplified management and billing, teams requiring consistent delivery infrastructure across SMS and email channels, and businesses planning to offer users choice in how they receive authentication codes.
